Dior Dior Dior... What can we say about this collection that we have not said in the past Dior collection throughout the direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri? It seems like we can never have any expectations when it comes to Dior anymore. It is a line of disappointment for each collection, especially couture.
Lately, Maria Grazia Chiuri has presented the most boring and unenthusiastic collection. After seeing the Resort 2024 collection and the concept behind it, I had my hopes high for this Fall 2023 couture. However, the failure to execute an acceptable couture collection is becoming a constant denominator of Maria Grazia's work.
The maison appears to have a couture problem, unfortunately, most of its collection resembles ready-to-wear collections, and the clothes also look similar to what Maria Grazia presented in the last collection of 65 pieces and none of them are worthy of being called couture. I personally believe she has great eyes for details and craftsmanship But a lot is missing to be called COUTURE!
The collection reminds me a lot of very overpriced brands that sell basic clothes, such as Lauren Manoogian, Loro Piana, The Row, and I love these brands but there is a reason why they are not couture. It's with all honesty quite sad to think of an haute couture maison this way but it's the reality that Maria Grazia it's presenting to us.
We get it you are obsessed with Greek and Roman mythology and minimalism, however, couture it's the moment that we are supposed to be speechless and admire the art of each designer.
some pieces might have potential but they get overshone by the none couture pieces, maybe it's time for us to see another designer take the place of Maria Grazia on the maison. I truly wish she could do something worthy of being called DIOR COUTURE!
See you soon, with love...
Milênia!
