Beyoncé is back people, can you hear me from the back? she is back. The artist is back on tour after five years on a break and we can't stretch how excited we are. Although the fact that she is back is great we are even more excited about the looks. The tour that started Wednesday at Stockholm’s Friends Arena went viral online because of the Artist's looks, one more incredible than the other.
Vogue magazine defined it as custom club-ready couture and that's the whole concept behind the tour look. The whole show has a very futuristic concept also and we can see that in the multiple outfits presented through the night. We can also encounter a lot of holographic or reflective aspects that merge perfectly with the album's visual aesthetic.
Beyoncé thought out the show she presents herself with Balmain, Loewe, Mugler, Courrèges, David Kama, and other equally fabulous designs.
Balmain made two beautiful custom pieces for the artist one of them a mini mirrored dress and the other recreation of the brand Fall 2023, which was a custom caged pearled bodysuit.
Talking about bodysuits, she wore two custom, Loewe, one of them a recreation of the Fall 2023 provocative design that features the hands and red nails covering some parts of the body. The stylist complemented the look with gloves that resemble the ones on the body suit. Personally, I have to say that's a brilliant idea because it blends perfectly with the bodysuit and sometimes through the show you ask yourself if that's her own hand or not. The Loewe bodysuit is very Beyoncé and brings a very sexy side of the artist.
As mentioned above she also wore a costume Courrègess inspired by their own Fall 2023 collection as well as her dancers. She defiantly looked fantastic in that, and Shiona Turini, the singer stylist, wanted every outfit to conversate with the album and has an audience we can clearly see how she incorporated the idea in the outfits.
We can truly feel the futuristic side of this when we see the Mugler design which is a recreation of the 1995 designs of Thierry. It's not a surprise that the singer likes to be unique and different but to be honest, that's a whole other level. Talking about Mugler she also gave us a full bee bodysuit in which references Thierry Mugler with an archival item from spring summer 1997 haute couture. We to admit that Casey Cawallade Mugler is not the same as Thierry. So the fact that the stylist, Shiona Turini, went back to get archive pieces or even create pieces that resemble a lot of past collections is a genius move.
The complexity of each piece and the design do tell a story of the album, and for me, that's the most important part. Certainly being able to accomplish that is a victory by itself, because we see a great number of artists, designers, and stylists that fail to do so.
Personally, my favorite outfit was defiantly the recreation of Alexander McQueen's Fall 2023. Because I did not like the original form of the piece, the fact that they could transform it into a beautiful artwork is splendid. In addition, Beyoncé also wore a David Kama holographic dress and matching jacket.
The whole fashion part of the show is frankly pure art with multiple outfits changing, and in the words of the also iconic singer Lizzo, Beyoncé is the artist of our lifetime. There is no art in our generation that has done what Beyoncé has. As a fashion geek, I have to say that Shiona Turine made a fantastic job translating what Beyoncé wanted to say through her clothes. As described by Vogue the fashion on Renaissance is "UNIQUE!". Hopefully, your girl goes to her concert in Charlotte (speaking into existence).
See you soon, with love...
Milênia!
