Since May tenth we have had an endless talk about Beyoncé's tour but especially her style and outfit changes throughout the tour. Because of the videos, pictures, and tweets we have been wondering who is the brain behind all of that, turns out there are two brains behind it. Both Julia Sarr-Jamois and Shiona Turini, together made sure Beyoncé wore the most different brands to debut the tour. From Balmain, Mugler vintage and new, Coperni, David Koma, Loewe, Givenchy by McQueen, Corréges, and even Anrealage a Japanese brand.
So, who truly are Julia Sarr-Jamois and Shiona Turini the two women that made all of us fashion geeks gasp with each look of the renaissance tour? And who are they in the fashion world?
Julia Sarr-Jamois is a British Ghanaian, who started her career at the age of seventh as an Intern at I-D, and ever since she has occupied high positions in fashion. Sarr was also the first and youngest Black woman to occupy a position as Director at Vogue UK and parallel to that she works as a consultant and stylist with a vast powerful list of clients in which Beyoncé is one of them. As if that wasn't enough for a great resume she is also a founding member of Mentoring Matters and Rubric.
Also known for her effortless vibrant style, bold color, and mix of patterns of streetwear and high fashion, Julia has worked as a consultant for brands like Nike, Zara, Chanel, Hermes, and even Dolce Gabbana. Recently Julia signed a collection with Frame, on the Renaissance she was responsible to create a bridge between the designers of maisons like Cperni, David Koma Courreges, and others with the singer's team.
On the other side, we have Shiona Turini who has worked with Beyoncé for quite a long time. She also helped create a partnership between Bey's team and Balmain as well as Mugler.
She is more focused on advertising and consulting for beauty brands, as a consultant she has worked for brands like La Mer and M.A.C. Besides these beauty brands, she has worked as a costume designer for HBO in addition to working as a consultant for Tiffany's and Nike. Other than Beyoncé, Shiona's list of clients includes Kerry Washington and even Beyoncé's sister Solange Knowles.
Since there are speculations that this is going to be Beyoncé's longest tour, there is a possibility that the outfits we saw are only the tip of the iceberg. We can expect more outfits throughout the tour.
It's safe to say these women were able to translate the message that Beyoncé wanted to share with her albums and songs through the wardrobe. Therefore creating a conversation between each element, and of course, it makes us question what might they bring next. Well, we are excited about the tour and can't wait to see what they have prepared.
See you soon, with love...
Milênia!
