Sofia Richie and Elliot Royal Wedding

By: Ema Nova

If a name has not left anyone's mouth and social media this weekend is Sofia Richi's name. The youngest daughter of the legend Lionel Richie married the British record executive Elliot Grainge, the son of Sir Lucian Charles Grainge, one of the chairman and chief executive officers of Universal Music Group.

The newly weed couple gave us a wedding worthy of a "royal wedding," as the internet entitled it. The once-in-lifetime wedding happened in the south of France at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, where they exchanged their vows.

However, there is a particular thing that made us more than excited: the wedding gowns. Yes, I said gowns. On the wedding day, Sofia used three stunning dresses from Chanel, two custom-made and one from the archive.

The collaboration between the bride and the maison Chanel marked this wedding season. In fact, the maison sponsors the wedding gowns. Sofia, now Mrs. Grainge, hinted throughout the week that she would wear Chanel, but still, we were unprepared for what we got.

To say that the wedding was fabulous is an understatement; the wedding was breathtaking.

On the left is a picture of the veil's detail which imitates raindrops instead of ordinary pearls. The wedding had such a big impact on the internet that Sofia had to open a TikTok account to share more details with her fans. Online, Sofia is being praised for her looks and named the "It girl" of the moment and the embodiment of what elegancy means.

For The rehearsal dinner, Sofia wore a custom-made Chanel gown inspired by Stella Tennant's Chanel fall-winter 1997 couture dress. "I'm scared to move because I don't want to ruin one bead," said Sofia in her Vogue clip. The beads made it more fun to look at and eccentric.

The gown, the hair, the long sleeves, and the makeup give a very elegant view of the overall look.

The gowns took around three months to make, and gosh was worth it. Contrary to the main dress, this one is even more conservative and closed all the way. This is definitely a design that we will see brides investing in. Sofia also mentioned in her Vogue video that she wanted something timeless that she would not regret 10 or 20 years from now.

I love that because you need to look back at your pictures and still fall in love with your wedding gowns.

For the main gown, Sofia surprised us with the gown that actually took our breath away. The halter neck and floral pattern inspiration came from Chanel couture Fall-winter 2022 but more in a bridal way. The bridal gown reminds me a lot of Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, and Audrey Hepburn's wedding gowns.

To complete the look, the bride wore her c a pair of diamond drop House of Harlow 1960 earrings designed by her sister Nicole Richie."Making these earrings for my sister is a moment I will never forget," Nicole Richie wrote on her Instagram story.

I love that she kept the hair and glam to a bare minimum again to the same concept of looking timeless.

"This, to me, is like my little girl dream," said Sofia Richie referring to her after-parting gown in her Vogue video. The after-party gown is a redesign of the iconic Claudia Schiffer Chanel in 1993. Of course, head-to-toe Chanel.

Personally, I love that it's a short dress, and she wanted to be partial to the party.

She continues by saying to Vogue, "This is like a fairytale. It really is. It's like an art piece. I feel like a princess, I really do!" No one can deny how she looks like a real-life princess.

Elegant, Elegant, truly Elegant.

It's fair to say that this is our royal wedding. The wedding got the internet talking for days and me crying every time I saw the bride and groom. May they have a beautiful and lasting marriage because we can't wait to see what Sofia Richie Grainge has stored for us.

See you soon, with love...

Milênia!
