Pier, Pier, Pier...
If you follow me on social media, especially Twitter, you might have seen my comments about this collection. Valentino has gone from Barbie Core to Black Core, and now they are bringing Black tie in a classic and sexy way.
Pierpaolo Piccioli is a genius, and he always brings what's hot in fashion with a twist of classy, sexy, and feminity. Mr. Piccioli always looks back at the maison's archives and work and mixes them with his ideas, therefore creating collections that are unforgettable.
For Fall 2023 ready-to-wear, according to Sarah Mower for Vogue, Mr. Picccioli's inspiration for this collection came from his fifteen-year-old daughter, who borrowed her dad's wardrobe when he saw his daughter rocking that suit, the idea of an unconventional black tie collection was born.
This automatically brings us back to Yves Saint Laurent in the 1960s when the designer was breaking norms in the fashion world by bringing women wearing menswear, or famous "smoking suits."The tie style with mini skirts, dresses, jumpsuits, bold shapes, feathers coats, and stripes marked the runway and was amazing. Even though neutral colors are the talk of the season, Valentino brought pink, red, and green. This collection truly holds a lot of fashion information and trends that we are about to experience now in spring.
What a beautiful collection Pierpaolo Piccioli used the most traditional and conventional symbols and gave them a new meaning elevating the meaning of black tie. Undoubtedly the most beautiful collection of this Paris Fashion Week. Every detail was well elaborated and put together, from the design to the styling of each piece. The use of tie unconventionally was honestly gold.
See you soon, with love...
