Born September 30, 1980, in Rockford, Illinois, to Ghanaian immigrant parents Virgil Abloh initially studied civil engineering and architecture, earning a degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master's degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. The brand gained rapid popularity for its distinctive use of diagonal stripes, quotation marks, and the iconic arrow logo. Off-White became a favorite among celebrities and fashion enthusiasts, propelling Abloh to international fame. In 2018, Abloh achieved another significant milestone when he was appointed the artistic director of Louis Vuitton's menswear collection. This made him one of the few people of color to hold such a prestigious position at a major luxury fashion house. His appointment marked a groundbreaking moment for diversity and representation in the industry.
