There is a reason that Pierpaolo Picciolo always closes the couture week, and this eyer wasn't any different. The show was so good that Anna Wintour gave him a standing ovation, and that is an iconic moment because, from her years working in fashion, she has only done that five times, and for brands including Stefano Piati's last Saint Laurent collection, Marc jacobs last Louis Vuitton collection, Karl Lagerfeld last Chanel collection, and now twice for Valentino.
Pierpaolo Picciolo opened his show with Kaia Gerber wearing jeans, which at first might be confusing because it's Haute Couture but those are no ordinary jeans. On the contrary, those were made of silk material and embroidered on more than 80 beads of different shades of indigo to mimic denim fabric.
However, that was not the only denim on the runway, vintage upcycle embroidered Levi's from 1966 were part of the show. Pierpaolo Piccioli told Vogue that the context behind the collection is "simplicity is complexity" and these two pieces represent that concept fully.
Besides the beautiful pair of jeans, there were even more interesting pieces including the headpiece which the feathers were individually burnt to create that effect, without forgetting the statement earrings that stole the show and matched a few of the dresses.
It's undeniable that each design was beautifully made the silhouettes, and the cuts were both modern and sophisticated. Piccioli's designs are made to make every woman feel sexy, empowered, and sophisticated.
See you soon, with love...
